The visitors you didn’t invite.
Every page they saw, in order, the click that moved them on, where they struggled and how they left. From the snippet already on your site, once you switch it on.
- One snippet, off until you switch it on
- The same line you paste for Live URL studies. Until an admin switches recording on for a site, the recorder is not even served.
- Never records what anyone types
- A field is named by what it asks for, never by its value. No query strings, no full referrer, no IP address.
- Friction, named
- Rage clicks, misclicks, u-turns, scrolling back and forth, long pauses and page errors — each with a definition you can check.
- No goal, no conversion rate
- Set a goal page or a button label and the visits that reach it are counted. Without one, nothing is called a conversion.
What a week of real visits gives back
Pick a capability to see it drawn from a sample site.
Every measured problem in the window, ranked by what it cost: a control that does not respond, a page that throws an error, a page people come straight back from. Each names its count, the change to make and the visits behind it.
Where real visitors struggle
Usually on a page nobody thought to test.
Find out why people leave the cart
The route to your goal shows the step where visits stop. “What to fix” names what they hit there, and every line opens the visits it counted.
Test the fix before the next visitors arrive
When visitors keep coming straight back from /delivery, rewrite it and send AI testers or invited human testers at the new version. Ship it, then compare the next week with this one.
Consent mode, for sites that need it
Visits stay anonymous until your cookie banner calls window.utestmeConsent(true). Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control keep a visitor anonymous whichever mode you choose.
Measured, and labelled when it isn’t
- 0characters anyone typed
Nothing typed, ever
A field is recorded by what it asks for — its label, placeholder or name — never by what was entered.
- Rage click ×4 measuredLikely frustrated an inference
Measured, or labelled
Signals and counts are measurements. The AI’s read of how someone felt says it is an inference, and sits apart from them.
- See the 42 visits
Every finding has visits behind it
Each line in “What to fix” opens the exact visits it counted, so a finding is a list you can check rather than a sentence to trust.
The snippet you already have
Plus your consent banner and a goal, when you want them.
The Live URL snippet
Add your domain and paste the one line into its <head>. Visits are recorded once the domain is verified and an admin switches recording on.
Your consent banner
Call window.utestmeConsent(true) when a visitor agrees, and false if they withdraw.
Do Not Track and GPC
A browser that sends either is never remembered, in any mode.
Your goal
A page, matched exactly or as a prefix, or the label of a button or link. Change it later and past visits are read again.

What a privacy-minded team asks first
What does it record?
Page paths in order and the click that led to each, clicks with a hotspot or misclick verdict, scroll depth, visible time, tab visibility, JavaScript errors, channel and utm tags, device, browser and OS, and approximate location. Never what anyone types, query strings, the full referrer or the IP address — and it stands down on framed pages, tester tabs and bots. It is not a screen recording.
Does it need cookies or consent?
Not by default. Anonymous mode stores nothing in the browser and stitches a visit from a server-side hash that rotates daily, so returning visitors are not measured. Consent mode stays anonymous until your banner calls window.utestmeConsent(true). Remember keeps a first-party id, for sites whose own consent covers analytics storage. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control force anonymous in every mode.
How is this different from a study?
A study watches people you asked to try a task — AI testers, or human testers you invited. Journeys watches the people who came by themselves, doing whatever they came to do. Use one to find a problem and the other to test the fix.
Can I delete visits?
Yes. A workspace admin can delete one visit — for an erasure request, say — or every visit recorded on a site. Nothing expires on its own yet.
Test from your pocket
The uTestMe tester app runs a study on a phone. Taps and screens recorded, consent first, results in the same view.
